5 Commonly Believed Myths about Working with Real Estate Virtual Concierge

The 1st myth – Finding a Virtual Concierge is simple, anyone can do it.

This is probably the most untrue of all myths. Using a Virtual Concierge requires a lot of skill, knowledge, and determination. You need to be able to do what everyone else does, but do it all virtually. This is no easy feat! In addition to this, being a VA requires you to be extremely motivated and driven. You must be able to keep up with the field, which is no simple task.

The 2nd Myth – Virtual Concierge are Paid to ‘Do Everything’

A virtual assistant does not replace you. Although they can definitely help you with all of the boring and tedious stuff in your real estate bookings, virtual assistants are also there to give you and your business more time and energy to focus on the tasks you enjoy the most.

The 3rd Myth – Having a Virtual Assistant Makes Communication more Difficult:

This myth is funny, because nowadays, the majority of our workplace communications are done over the phone or through email. Even if the person is only in the next room, we communicate through digital means. The digital world has advanced so much that video calling, different messaging apps, and screen sharing are all available. The only thing that a Virtual Concierge cannot do is yell across the room to you, which wasn’t a very effective means of communication anyway.

The 4th Myth – Virtual Concierge Cannot Do Everything a Normal Assistant Can Do:

Virtual Concierge can do almost everything that a regular assistant can do. The only thing they cannot do is to bring you your morning coffee. This is probably not the most vital thing for them to do, so you probably don’t need this anyway. The digital age we live in makes it entirely possible for a virtual assistant to function exactly like a real one. They can do all the tasks that you would have had them do, and they do it more efficiently, and without all the distractions that an office might have. As long as you are okay with getting your coffee and breakfast yourself, your virtual personal assistant will be just as effective as a normal one.

The 5th Myth – A Virtual Concierge has to be a Full Time Employee:

A Virtual Concierge can be hired on a full time or part-time basis. However, most VCs are hired on a part-time or flexible basis. This is especially the case if your business is very hectic on 2 days of the week, and then less intense for the other days. It is a good idea for you to hire a VA on a part-time or flexi-time basis first, and then hire them full-time, if things work out.

All in all, there’s a lot of information out there about the use of virtual assistants. In fact, much of the information about the importance of a VC is FALSE! While the concept of hiring a virtual assistant to “run” your “whole business” may sound intimidating, the truth is deciding to hire a virtual assistant for your business has real merit. A virtual assistant can be just that – virtual – and can serve as an extension of your current team. Furthermore, there are tremendous benefits to having this select individual on your team.
